The Launceston Cup is on again so get your cars prepared for some serious racing.

The event will be run as an inter-club event so club pride is at stake!  Make sure you get your entries in to represent GOMCC and lets bring the trophies down south.

There will also be a club shield up for grabs for the best performing club at the end of 2012.

Sorry guys no racing today.

Racing is on again this weekend as we move into the business end of the Autumn point series.  Get your cars ready and make sure your out for some great racing.

The weather is looking marginal, so make sure you keep an eye on the website here for updates if racing is cancelled

The rain held off and those that braved the weather were rewarded with fantastic racing.  The track took in 4.5mm in the 24hours before Sunday and bounced back fantastic, with only a half hour delay on the scheduled start time.  The track was extremely tricky to set up for with many drivers finding it hard to find a consistent set up on the ever evolving surface.

Half a dozen racers from Launceston travelled down for the day and made their presence felt in buggy classes, filling second, third and fourth in both 2WD stock and 4WD mod.  These are sure to be a hotly contested classes in the upcomming Launceston Cup, which has now been confirmed for the 30th of June with practice on the 29th.

Class wins today went to Phil Reibel (2WD SCT), Alex John (2WD Buggy) and Ben Hoare (4WD Buggy & 4WD SCT).  The Autumn Series Points have been updated and there is also a drivers personal best page now available which can be found at the top of the results page.

We have reached the half way point in the Autumn Points Series with racing set to hit Goodwood Park again this weekend.  All the usual classes will be run: 2WD SCT, 4WD SCT, 2WD Buggy/Stadium Truck, 4WD Buggy and Beginners.

Note!  Racing will start at 10am now, not 9:30am like usual.

Dust off your cars as racing is on again this Sunday.  As usual, racing will start at 9:30am with check in from around 8:30am.

See you all there.

What a great April fools day it was; great weather, great track and great racing.  The track prep of sweeping and watering Saturday (thanks to George for the help sweeping) and again before finals Sunday gave a huge amount of grip and resulted in tyre choice moving from the usual Calibers to more Hole-
Shot/Suburbs.  So a good idea to pick up a set and try if you haven't.
Taking home the wins today were Phil Reibel (2WD SCT), Ben Hoare (4WD SCT & 4WD Buggy) and Alex John (2WD Buggy).  The Autumn Series Points have been updated, remember you will drop one round.

Get down to Goodwood Model Park for another weekend of off-road action.  Gates open at 8:30am, racing to start by 9:30.  Lend a hand setting up if you can, many hands make light work.

The normal classes will be running 2WD buggy, 4WD buggy, 2WD short course and 4WD short course.  We are also looking to get the junior class up and running, so make sure you bring along your son or daughter for a go.  There will be no limit to what juniors can run as long as it's 1/10th electric and no more than 2 cell lipo.

You will also notice a large amount of black clay has been delivered to the track.  This is thanks to the generosity of Graham who donated his time and resources.  You may see him on Sunday as he is a fellow RC fan and is looking to start racing with his son.  The clay will be used to extend and add jumps to the track.

See you Sunday!

It was a small field today but the racing turned out fantastic none the less on a brilliant autumn day.  The track was freshly packed (most of it anyway) and turned blue groove towards the end of the day, yielding moderate to high grip.  We welcomed two new racers today, brothers Shane and Michael Winter, who intend to take on the usual field in the buggy classes with Shane taking out 2WD Buggy on debut.
Other class wins went to Richard Skinner (2WD SCT), Phil Reibel (4WD SCT) and Ben Hoare (4WD Buggy).  As such all these drivers walk away now leading their respective classes as we are now officially underway with the 2012 GOMCC Autumn Series, you can find the full table of Championship Points here

Get down to Goodwood this Sunday for the first round of the Autumn Series.  After last meet was washed out it looks as though we will finally get a run in, the forecast being ‘Cloudy’.  The track will be compacted down on Saturday so we should have an excellent surface for racing.

The usual classes (2WD Buggy, 4WD Buggy, 2WD Short Course, 4WD Short Course) will be there.  If you have a willing junior make sure you set up a buggy and bring them along as it would be great to get a Junior class started.  Race format is 2x5min qualifiers and 3x5min finals.

Race fees are $10 first class, $5 second class for members, and non-members get their first three race meets at member’s prices.  Sausages and soft drink are available for lunch.  Be there by 9:00am to sign up, racing starts at 9:30am.

And don’t worry you won’t miss the Formula 1, the race doesn’t start until 5pm!
